Sue moved from her hometown of Chicago to Virginia Beach in 2017 with her husband Mike and their two children, Liam and Maggie. A lifelong volunteer, Sue began her journey in service during high school at a local homeless shelter. Her passion for giving back continued as she became a founding board member of the nonprofit Two Rivers Nation in Chicago and later served as a docent at Brookfield Zoo.

In 1997, Sue joined the General Federation of Women's Clubs (GFWC), a philanthropic organization dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Since 2020, she has been an active member of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Tidewater.

Sue was introduced to Connect With a Wish by a friend, and after spending just one day with Joy Rios, she realized she had learned more about foster care than she had in her entire life. She went on to serve as office Manager at CWW for three years, bringing her organizational skills and heart for service to the role.

Now employed by the City of Virginia Beach, Sue will continue to draw from her nonprofit background, administrative experience, and deep passion for children to advocate for and support those in foster care as a member of the CWW board.
