After moving multiple times as part of a Navy family and obtaining a degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kathleen Roberts settled in the Washington, DC, area, where she had a successful career in the environmental regulatory field. Specifically, she worked as project manager and spokesperson for multiple trade associations working towards common advocacy or research goals. She was also involved in school and extracurricular activities for her son and daughter, including parent-teacher organizations, high school and summer swim leagues, and middle school musicals. Kathleen and her husband retired and relocated to Virginia Beach in 2021.
While a laid-back retirement is the overall plan, Kathleen wanted to find a volunteer role with a group that focused on youth in her new hometown. Once she saw the Connect With a Wish website and learned about its many awe-inspiring programs, she immediately knew she found her match. She is thrilled that she can parlay her past project management experience as a member of the Connect With a Wish (CWW) Board and is extremely proud to be part of the team that provides so many important services to the Virginia Beach community.
